My Interest in Space from a Young Age

My interest in space exploration began with Apollo 8 circling the Moon in 1968. The astronauts were so close to the surface that, through their broadcasts and methodical progress, it felt as though I was travelling with them and even seeing Earth from a distance.

I was hooked. As computer technologies advanced alongside space exploration, the possibilities once imagined in science fiction began to feel far more real to me.

More than 50 years later, Artemis II has carried another crew around the Moon, and that same sense of awe remains. It reignites a vision of what human exploration in space might become.

The Significance of OMNI

The OMNI series reflects that same feeling. It follows a family learning to navigate the wonders and challenges of living aboard a space station orbiting Earth. Their experiences imply that character, cooperation, and trust are just as essential to life in space as the systems that sustain it—ventilation, space suits, and the craft that carry them.

OMNI itself is not without imperfections. In a sense, it is omnipresent, its position in orbit offering a continuous view outward to Earth, the Moon, and the wider cosmos. It also seems aware of the many lives within its structure. The stories are not only about space, but about how people might work together to shape a meaningful future, both on our planet and beyond it.

A Final Thought

There is space for all who wish to participate in crafting the future.
